A2P 10DLC Registration

Get your business messaging ready for approval.

Setting up business texting involves more than choosing a phone number. We help prepare your A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration, review your website and opt-in process, and address issues that can hold up approval. Whether you are starting a new registration or working through a rejection, we help align the application with how your business actually collects permission and sends messages.

Approval decisions, review times and provider fees are controlled by the applicable providers and review organizations. Registration approval does not replace customer consent or other applicable messaging requirements.

Who it’s for.

  • Businesses setting up texting from a local phone number for the first time.
  • Businesses whose brand or campaign registration was rejected.
  • Teams moving to a new messaging provider or CRM that requires registration.
  • Businesses adding texting to a website form, booking flow or follow-up system.

Problems it can help solve.

  • A campaign was rejected and the reason is unclear.
  • The website has no clear place where customers agree to receive texts.
  • Sample messages and the campaign description don't match what the business sends.
  • Business details in the application don't match tax or website records.

Brand registration and campaign registration

A2P 10DLC registration has two parts. Brand registration identifies who is sending the messages: your business, its legal name, tax ID and other details, so carriers know the sender is legitimate. Campaign registration describes what you send: the purpose of the messages, sample messages, how people opt in, and how they opt out or get help.

Both are submitted through your messaging provider. A brand can have more than one campaign, for example one for appointment reminders and another for marketing messages, and each campaign is reviewed against how its messages are actually collected and sent.

Common application inconsistencies.

Business details don't match

The legal name or tax ID details differ from official records, or the website shows a different business name than the application.

Opt-in can't be verified

The application describes a website form, but the form is missing, behind a login, or doesn't say what messages the customer will receive, how often, that message and data rates may apply, or how to opt out.

Samples don't match the use case

Sample messages promote offers in a campaign registered for appointment reminders, leave out the business name, or use public link shorteners.

What you'll need to provide.

  • Your legal business name, business type and tax ID details as they appear on official records.
  • Your business address, website and a contact for the registration.
  • Access to your messaging provider account, or someone who can submit on your behalf.
  • The kinds of messages you plan to send and how often.
  • How customers currently give permission to receive texts.
  • Any rejection notices or reason codes from a previous submission.

Reviewing a rejected submission.

  1. Read the rejection reason or code from your messaging provider.
  2. Compare the brand details with your official business records and website.
  3. Check the campaign description and sample messages against what you actually send.
  4. Walk through the opt-in flow as a customer would, and check the consent language next to it.
  5. Check the privacy policy and terms for messaging-related disclosures.
  6. Correct the issues and resubmit through your provider, following its process for editing or resubmitting a rejected campaign.

What affects scope, pricing and timing.

  • Whether this is a new registration or a rejected one.
  • The number of campaigns and use cases.
  • How much the website and opt-in forms need to change.
  • Whether the approved setup also needs connecting to your website or CRM.

Limitations and dependencies.

  • We can't guarantee approval. Decisions are made by messaging providers, carriers and review organizations.
  • Review times vary and are outside our control.
  • Provider and registration fees are charged by your messaging provider and are separate from our work.
  • Approval doesn't allow messaging people who haven't agreed to receive your texts.

Common questions.

What is A2P 10DLC registration?

A2P 10DLC is the US system for business (application-to-person) text messaging from standard 10-digit local phone numbers. Registration identifies your business as the sender and describes the messages you plan to send, so carriers can review them.

Why was my campaign rejected?

Common reasons include business details that don't match official records, an opt-in process reviewers can't verify, consent language that leaves out required information, and sample messages that don't match the use case. Your provider's rejection reason is the place to start.

Does my website need an SMS opt-in form?

If customers sign up for texts on your website, reviewers will look for that opt-in and the consent language next to it. If permission is collected another way, such as in person or on a paper form, the application needs to describe it clearly.

Can you help with an existing registration?

Yes. We can review an existing brand or campaign, help update it when your use case changes, or work through a rejection.

How long does the review take?

Review times are set by your messaging provider and the review organizations and can vary. We can't promise a fixed timeline.

Are provider fees included?

No. Registration and monthly campaign fees are charged by your messaging provider and are separate from our work.

Does approval let me text any phone number?

No. Approval covers the campaign you registered. You still need each recipient's permission and must honor opt-out requests and other applicable messaging requirements.
